Enjoying Class B Tourney in Jordan

The 95th Minnesota Baseball Association State Tournament begins this weekend with 16 teams from around the state vying for a Class B championship that will conclude on Labor Day.

The Mini Met in Jordan will host games the next two weekend beginning at 11 AM today with the Forest Lake Brewers v. Hibbing Miners. The Miesville Mudhens, looking for their third consecutive title, will begin tournament play later today at 1:30 against the Victoria Vics.

The Mini Met is considered one of the states favorite ballparks and its design and setting have set it apart from many town ballparks. The stadium features a hand-operated scoreboard, large grass seating down the third base line, a covered grandstand, and a train that swings by precisely at 6 PM outside the outfield walls. The ballpark is also bordered by the Sand Creek that further adds to its activeness.

Stadium Journey recently paid a visit to the stadium and ventured around town as well to discover an area well worth a visit that’s only about 30-40 minute drive from the Twin Cities. Come for the baseball game, but grab dinner at the Feed Mill Restaurant, a drink at Roets Jordan Brewing Company, or exotic candy and soda pop at Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store. You will find all of this and much more in our comprehensive review of The Mini Met.
