Raiders: ‘Bama and ‘Zona Now In The Mix

by | Feb 13, 2019 | Andrei Ojeda, News |

As the seemingly endless saga for a temporary home for the Raiders continues, new reports now have the team working with Tucson, Arizona and Birmingham, Alabama to split hosting duties for the 2019 season.

Under the proposed plan, the Raiders would divide their home games at Arizona Stadium and Legion Field.

The Raiders are currently without a home. Their lease with the Oakland Coliseum has expired and talks with other Bay Area venues have stalled.

Though Birmingham city council president pro tem William Parker and Tucson attorney Ali Farhang are optimistic that a combined effort will lead to more substantive talks between Raiders owner Mark Davis and the cities, as per any stadium news story involving the Raiders, confusion lingers in the air as Birmingham’s leaders appear blindsided by the councilor’s effort to lure the Raiders.

Oracle Park, Levi Stadium, Arizona Stadium, Legion Field, and even Oakland Coliseum are the venues that have been up for discussion as possible lame duck venues before the Raiders move to Sin City in 2020.
