Citrus Bowl Gets VRBO Sponsorship
The Citrus Bowl, one of the biggest and most highly regarded bowl games in America, has a new sponsor in VRBO. VRBO is a travel site with which users can book homes (beach houses, cabins, condos, etc) to stay at during their travels. The agreement with ESPN and Florida Citrus Sports (FCS) now means the game will be called the VRBO Citrus Bowl – the game is slated to kick off at 1 pm on New Year’s Day between Penn State and Kentucky at Camping World Stadium.
“Florida is one of VRBO’s most popular vacation home destinations so it’s fitting to see our logo on the 50-yard line of the VRBO Citrus Bowl,” stated Bill Furlong, vice president of VRBO, Americas. “We are proud to welcome football fans from all over to this family vacation hot spot and know they’ll enjoy the space, privacy and value the vacation homes and condos they’re staying in provide.”
“We’re excited to pair Orlando, the top tourist destination in the world, with a growing vacation rental brand in VRBO,” said Steve Hogan, CEO of Florida Citrus Sports. “We look forward to helping fans from the Big Ten and SEC make plans in Central Florida this holiday season.”
The game traditionally features a match-up of big names in college football, with last year’s event featuring LSU and Notre Dame.
