Even though the calendar says today is April Fools’ Day, Major League Lacrosse wasn’t kidding around, as it announced that three of the league’s nine teams are folding.

The Village of Obetz, south of Columbus, Ohio and the MLL franchise, the Ohio Machine would partner on the first ever field lacrosse first venue that a MLL franchise would call home.

The Boston Cannons are one of the Major Lacrosse League’s original teams, in operation since 2001. Over their short history, the Cannons have played in Cawley Memorial Stadium in Lowell, Nickerson Field at Boston University and Gillette Stadium in Foxboro before settling in Allston. The Cannons have won one league championship, in 2011.
