Although the Yost Ice Arena originally opened in 1923 and was named after legendary Michigan Football coach Fielding Yost, The home of the Wolverines hockey program now shares its named after Red Berenson, the legendary hockey coach who racked up 848 wins from 1984 to 2017.
For all the baseball purists or baseball nerds (as we’re sometimes called), an Arizona Fall League game is just the ticket for you. Scottsdale Stadium provides lots of baseball and sports history. If in town in Oct or Nov, be sure to stop by and take in nine innings.
The Peoria Javelinas are one of six teams to play in the Arizona Fall League, who play for a little over a month in October and November in various spring training complexes in the Greater Phoenix Area. The Javelinas play at the Peoria Sports Complex, which is home to the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners in the spring, and the AZL Padres in the summer.

The Glendale Desert Dogs are a part of the Arizona Fall League, a yearly instructional league that features the game’s top prospects every October and November. In addition to hosting the Desert Dogs in the fall, Camelback Ranch was built as the Spring Training home for the LA Dodgers and Chicago White Sox in 2009.
Waldo Stadium was built in 1939 and has been home to Western Michigan University’s football team ever since. The stadium currently has a capacity of 30,200, which is exactly the same capacity as in-state rival Eastern Michigan’s Rynearson Stadium.
