Sun Belt Champion Troy Trojans beat Conference USA Champion UTSA Roadrunners in 18-12 thriller on first day of the 2022 Bowl Season.

During their march up in competition, UTSA made the NCAA Tournament four times (1988, 1999, 2004, 2011) and the CIT tourney once (in 2018).

In 1992 the Roadrunners began their baseball program and would move into the Southland Conference (they are in Conference USA today).
